1. The Sedlec Ossuary or The Church of Bones.

    This church is located in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic. In the 15th century, a church was built near what was originally the Sedlec cemetery, where a great number of bodies resulting from the Black Death had been buried, and its basement was used as an ossuary.

    In 1870 a woodcarver by the name of František Rint was assigned to organize the stacks, and stacks of unmarked bones. This macabre display of bones was the result.

    There is over 40,000 people who are apart of the church’s skeletal decoration.
